Dogs, perfume, the colour pink… take your pick and keep it moving
As I write this, I am absolutely exhausted and that’s partly because the brand new podcast I am hosting is released today with the first episode being: Should Christian women wear bikinis?? Give it a listen and - high please! - rating wherever you get your podcasts by searching ‘Woman Alive’!
But I want to keep the joyous memories of my first holiday in two years and share the joy that gave me such a lift when I was there. Last year I wrote ‘This is what joy looks like’ about how I met and interviewed Tina Rose Lawless for Woman Alive, the magazine I edit, and during the shoot, Tina casually mentioned that she would soon be moving to France and that I should come visit. As always with these things, my immediate response was a very British, ‘Oh, lovely!’ but with no real intention to go. Plot twist: she meant it!
And so it was that I found myself sunbathing in a lovely little French village surrounded by what was essentially a fully-fledged farm (with six dogs, a tortoise, a budgerigar, chickens, a cockerel, a pig who quite randomly sauntered onto the property and never left, two goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and at the time of writing this delightful group was to be joined by some baby ducks) housed in the most delightful chateau…
