‘I'm countering “Blue Monday” by digging out my favourite outfits from 2022’
Bored of being blue, I’m following Reed Recruitment’s advice to #LoveMondays by looking back and appreciating my fashion game last year*
*I know, I’m easily pleased. I’ve also finished my period this month – yay! Hormones are so real.
I wore this to church for my first Sunday service of the year. One of my close friends *hates* this coat but since no one asked her opinion, feel free to love it along with me.
Coat: Vintage C&A from Topshop Oxford St (RIP)
Necklace: Gold Mothers’ Union logo (an old employer)
Batwing jumper: Mango from Malta
Flares: FARM Rio
Wine red boots: LK Bennett
This felt dinner party appropriate for an evening with a new neighbour who, halfway through drinks, called her gem dealer to give one of the other guests a quote for a rare uncut diamond. #ThisIsCheltenham
Houndstooth blazer: Second hand gem found at T&Shop, Islington
Jumper: Borrowed and never returned from my cousin Sammy via Uniqlo
High waisted jeans: Topshop Tall
Silver boots: Balenciaga via TK Maxx
Two of my besties came to see me not long after I moved into my new apartment and since they are both queens of style, I had to step it up.
White sunglasses: Calvin Klein via TK Maxx
Jacket: Vintage YSL via Portobello market
High waisted jeans: Topshop Tall (as above)
Bag: This is literally the dust bag the department store Flannels send out with all their clothes but the dismay of my friend who only shops at Harrods, I use it as a handbag.
Black sock boots: Zara
I went to interview a fashionista for work so again, had to come out of the thermals I’d been living in for months. London always requires a different energy. This is it.
Sunglasses: Burberry
Coat: Vintage C&A from Topshop Oxford St (RIP)
Cardigan: Loewe
Jeans: Noisy May from ASOS
Boots: Celine (post-purchase repair from the Atelier is pretty non-existent, recommend you avoid at all cost)
Bag: Heavy weight cotton tote from Liberty (see aforementioned handbag conundrum)
My cousin’s wedding. With no clear plan of what I wanted, I made vague suggestions to my tailor as he cut up my aso-oke and out came this beauty. I highly recommend his services.
Fabric: Aso-Oke from Lagos, Nigeria via Golden Stitches, Cheltenham
Handbag: Borrowed (and returned) from another cousin
Shoes: Gianvito Rossi
I was presenting an award at the Premier Gospel Awards so I went back to my tailor, gave him a piece of muslin cloth my friend sent me back in 2021 when I was sick, and had him put poppers in so I could wear it as a dress. Like I said, I highly recommend him.
Dress: Muslin cloth fabric from Modern Burlap
Lipstick: (yes I’m still wearing) Ruby Woo, MAC
Smile: Model’s own
This jumpsuit is so tight I can’t wear it for long before it threatens to pop off, so I figured it was the perfect outfit for my friend’s birthday dinner. Oh well, you live and you learn.
Coloured necklace + bracelet: Tina Rose Lawless (her Instagram bio reads: Building a farm whilst wearing Gucci and she isn’t joking. Go check her out)
Other random necklaces: Gold “T” in the shape of a naked woman that people always assume is a cross and a gold Mothers’ Union logo (an old employer)
Jumpsuit: Lavish Alice
There’s nothing like the sun to get me to my happy place. I spent a beautiful heatwave day jumping up and down on a trampoline in my friend’s garden before cooling down in the pool.
Dress: H&M
Joy: Model’s own
Who else just loves a good wedding? I wore this to a late summer celebration on a gorgeous farm in the middle of nowhere and my barely there sandals barely lasted ten minutes on the uneven ground. I was happily barefoot for most of the day and night – except for the silent disco because I like to dance in heels, and singing round the campfire. (Thank you Lizzie and Barney for an amazing day!)
Dress: Kitri via Flannels
Shoes: Carvela via Liberty
An otherwise ill-advised outfit for UK temperatures in October: I wore it anyway. Headed to the launch party for a friend’s new shop opening and luckily, since it was raining, less than five mins walk from my apartment.
Suit jacket: Topshop Tall
Top: Versace Jeans via Flannels
Shorts: Zara
Shoes: Gianvito Rossi (as above)
What on earth does one wear to a barn dance? This, apparently. My ribs ached so much after this event at Dunkerton’s that I worried I had damaged something internally. Turns out we had just been laughing too much. : )
Coat: Topshop Unique
Choker: The black ribbon that comes tied around the pink Agent Provocateur boxes
Lips: (still) Ruby Woo, MAC
Silk dress: All Saints
Boots: R Soles, formerly of Kings Road
So turns out I don’t really know how to dress for weather… I went to Soho Farmhouse for the day with three friends and this is what I wore knowing we would be doing a cycling tour after lunch. And yes, I did get on the bike dressed like this.
Hat: Norse Projects via Union Project
Cardigan: Loewe (as above)
Top: Zara
Waistbead: Ghana (as above)
Blue velvet trousers: Law & Co
Socks: Stella McCartney x Adidas
Shoes: Agent Provocateur
And that was 2022! Which was your favourite outfit? Leave a comment below!

I love all of those looks, but the blue dress with the pink flowers is absolute perfection.
Game on !
