‘A stranger told me I needed to put on weight’
And I’m trying to work out why this is considered less offensive than me telling her she could afford to lose some?
So I’ve not been wearing many clothes recently, “’What’s new?!’ I hear you cry and you’d be right to do so. It has been deliciously HOT in the UK and even where I live in the SW England where we lose some of the heat London has from pure pollution, it has been blue skies and sunny days for at least a week and I love it. Since you all know by now how happy I am to have skin exposed you won’t be surprised by some of the backless wonders I have been floating around in of late. But on the particular day of the incident in this week’s essay title, I was actually wearing dark skinny jeans, a loose tee and this coach jacket. The only thing on show was my ankles, and readers, that is where this stranger turned to find her source of concern.
